visible (9:41 low tide - 5.2ft; 14:44 high tide - 9.2ft)
13:29 end

Tweeters,
Overcast, slightly warm and quick south wind, and choppy waters at
Turning Basin #3. Just a few minutes can make a distinct change in what
can be seen when I sally forth. Here is a prime example: I saw a lot of
gulls to the south resting on what remained of the mudflats there and
decided to count those first instead of my usual
start-at-the-power-substation approach. I counted 94 Mew Gulls. Less
than a minute after that count, most of that flock flew off downriver,
with less than a dozen remaining. Timing is everything.

Birds seen during this scan include the following:
Canada Goose (12)
Gadwall (6)
Mallard (4)
Bufflehead (4)
Common Merganser (3)
Double-crested Cormorant
Osprey
Mew Gull (94)
Glaucous-winged Gull (10)
Rock Pigeon (12)
Belted Kingfisher
American Crow (5)
European Starling (49)
Song Sparrow
Red-winged Blackbird (2)
House Finch (2)
House Sparrow (3)

May all your birds be identified,
