Birded the Confluence State park in Wenatchee yesterday. Standing on the bridge looking up river, where the Osprey nest is, my fellow birders and I were saying that the Osprey should be back any day now. Right on cue, she/he flew in, flared her/his wings and landed straight across from us. Quite dramatic and beautiful!!
Far less dramatic but just as exciting, the first of the male Rufous Hummingbirds appeared at my feeder this morning. A bit early for those of us on the east side for the Cascades but I sort of expected it this year, hence the feeder being out waiting for him.
