Hi Jamie and Tweeters,

I looked yesterday am and pm before work
unsuccessfully for the Baikel Teal. In the pm I did a
quick stop on W Valley near Smith Brothers (N of
277th) after my Teal search because I had noticed some
shorebirds earlier. There were probably about 30
Greater, mixed with some Lesser Yellowlegs, Kildeer,
several Dunlin going into breeding plumage with black
bellies, and at least one Western Sandpiper. Plus
about 10 Mew Gulls. This strikes as having some real
possibilities for cool shorebirds. I parked in the
first pullout on the east side of the road past the
Smith Brothers buildings. I had to scope through the
traffic. Not the most ideal conditions. Also the mud
scrape ponds they are in are not that attractive
aesthetically. I just throw this out there for those
who need a break from the search or are
Sandpiperophiles.
