I too have had good luck with Close Scientific Repair in n. downtown. The
proprietor there (if the same one is still present) has been at it for a
long time, and it seems a rather unique outfit. Captain's Nautical does
optic repair on certain makes, and is otherwise a super place to survey new
optics (scopes and binocs), along with having an impressive selection of
maps, books and Northwestiana.
