Hi Tweets,

I was wondering if people would be willing to share info on locations and activity of King and Snohomish County raptor nests, excluding owls - basically hawks, eagles and falcons. I have started a table of all known nests, which I will be sharing with local Audubon groups, WOS or whoever needs such info. I can share the table with whomever would like a copy. Info on some nests may be shared sparingly if their is any issue over disturbance concerns, property issues, etc. That said, most nests are high enough, inaccessible enough or in already heavily used areas and don't seem likely to have such issues.

My thought is that if local conservationists and others know of the existence of a local raptor nest with recent activity they might be able to use the info in preserving the nesting or feeding habitats or influencing management plans with parks depts. etc. I know nests of most species are not protected but I figure it can't hurt if people have access to the info.

If anyone would like to help with keeping records for other counties I would be happy to work with them. Also, I'm open to suggestions on additional info that might need to go into the tables. Unfortunatley, I can't put the table on this e-mail as an attachment and am unsure of whether I can put it into the e-mail itself.

Thanks for your help - now and through the nesting season.
