Hi Tweeters,

The immature Bald Eagle swooped down to Portage Bay,
picked something off the water, flew all the way over
the top of the I-5 Ship Canal bridge toward Lake
Union. Who knows where that flight ended?

I think the female Mallards are nesting but haven't
found any nests, maybe if I beat the brush I would,
but I won't. At least one male is starting to look
scruffy like he is heading toward eclipse. Found new
species nest today, a Bewick's Wren nest in an obscure
nestbox. The wren showed me the nest box I didn't
know about. Still 5 Bushtit nests, at least 3 crow
nests, and probable 2 Rock Dove nests. The crows at
the Agua Verde nest seem to be on eggs, and crows
everywhere are flying around with sticks in their
bills.

The ducks and heron got busted for fishing the salmon
pond, the employees tightened up the net and they
can't weigh it down to fish out the baby salmon any
more.

I will be heading south to bird in SE Arizona next two
weeks so until I return happy spring birding in the
NW.
