Greetings Tweeters,

The male Bufflehead remains near the intersection of St Rt. 99 and Mukilteo Speedway and I am wondering when it will head up to Canada. I finally spotted two females with the male about 6 weeks ago (At that time they were all in the runnoff pond at the intersection NE off-on ramp.), but now the male has moved slightly north (about one block) to a pond by a wrecked-cars business along the Speedway . This pond was occupied by Mallards earlier in the winter, but they are no longer there. I didn't spot the females this morning when I drove by the ponds. When do the Buffleheads wintering around here normally start their migration north?
