Hello Tweeters,
My husband Bob and I are pretty sure we saw a male Mountain Bluebird at the Green River Natural Resource area off 212th and Russell Road in Kent today. We saw him about 11:00 sitting on a fence near the south tower. He sat there for quite a while as we approached, then flew to the ground and back up to the fence several times.

I have never seen one of these birds before and think this is fairly rare for this area. He was the size of a robin, black eye and bill with a black stripe through the eye, fairly thin bill, all blue head and back, white undersides and black edges to the wings. There was no rufous color that we could see at all, and we were about 50 feet away so we got a good view of him.

Has anyone else seen this bird there? He was alone.
