Folks who come to these parts often ask about burrowing owls. I have seen a pair at the presumed nest hole along Hwy 17. It is on the east side of the hwy 0.8 miles south of the railroad crossing (that is just south of I-90). The nesthole is under the concrete agricultural water ditch. Possibly the owls are trying to tell us we are in for a hot summer as they are staking out a place with air conditioning!

Cheers
