Hello All,
Today was great! The sun was out proving once again that predicting the
weather is only for new comers and fools. We joined a Blue Mountain Audubon
Fieldtrip in progress under the capable leadership of Joe and Carolyn
Corvino. We saw the following species of note...............

Swainsons Hawk...............1 dark morph along Lyons Ferry Rd.
Long-eared Owl.................1 pair at nest along Lyons Ferry Rd.
Ferruginous Hawk...............1 pair at nest along Lyons Ferry Rd.
Mountain Chickadee............1 pair at Lyons Ferry Park
Peregrine Falcon............... 1 pair at Palouse Falls S.P.
White-throated Swift..........15 birds at Palouse Falls S.P.
Ferruginous Hawk..............1 pair at nest east of Starbuck.

BOHEMIAN WAXWING...212 BIRDS in Dayton along 6th Street and near the high
school. This is the latest date we have ever seen this species in
Southeastern Washington. I would never expect to see this many birds this
late.

Wild Turkey...........7 birds in the middle of a Dayton neighborhood, one
was an adult tom displaying in the middle of 4th street. Too many turkeys
for the good of the order!
