In some years I've seen Painted Ladies here (Coupeville) nectaring and
oviposting (egg laying) way too early to be a second generation from the
"California Wave". I suppose some of our ladies may be from California but
certainly not all.
I saw a lovely Gray Hairstreak on 4/2/05 in Madame Dorian State Park near
Walla Walla.
