Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was Made Wednesday April 13. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at

The spring migration is well underway now with new birds being seen daily.

An early HEERMANN?S GULL was at Brookings April 7. A WESTERN KINGBIRD was
there April 10. A LOGGERHEAD SHRIKE was seen April 7 at Pistol River. A PALM
WARBLER was along the nature trail at Yaquina Bay April 9. Two ELEGANT TERNS
were reported April 6 at Lincoln City.

A RED-NAPED SAPSUCKER was seen April 7 at Mt. Tabor Park in Portland. On
April 9 a VESPER SPARROW and a SAY?S PHOEBE were at the Sandy River Delta
east of Portland. A BREWER?S SPARROW was there April 11.

A male BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAK was in Salem and another was in Eugene April
10. On April 8 six BLACK-NECKED STILTS were at Fern Ridge Reservior. A
CATTLE EGRET was reported from there April 9. On April 11 a WESTERN KINGBIRD
was near Fern Ridge. Up to 20 TRICOLORED BLACKBIRDS are now at Fords Pond
near Sutherlin.

A LOGGERHEAD SHRIKE was at Detroit Flats April 11. On April 9 Seven PINE
GROSBEAKS were near the Benson Snow Park parking lot at Santiam Pass. A
COMMON POORWILL was in Bend April 9. Two SWAINSON?S HAWKS were near Burns
April 6.
