Well after putting on three layers of warm clothes and seeing ice under most
of the sprinklers we were off to see spring migration. Birds of note
were...........
Bohemian Waxwings - 21 in College Place
Blue Jays - 2 at Wallula and N. College in College Place
Ross's Geese - 9 at Burbank, MP 300 ponds along HWY12
Lesser Yellowlegs - 14 on Detour Road west of College Place
Greater Yellowlegs - 1 on Detour Road, 5 on WWRD
Dunlin - 600+ on WWRD (Walla Walla River Delta)
Black-necked Stilt - 2 on WWRD, 5 at North Shore Drive millet fields
American Avocet - 2 on WWRD, 10 at Overview Pond
Cinnamon Teal - 3 on WWRD, 4 at North Shore Drive pond
Bald Eagle - 1 sub-adult at Hood Park
Yellow-rumped Warblers - singing everywhere!
Orange-crowned Warbler - 1 at McNary NWR HQ
Lincoln's Sparrow - 1 at WWRD, 3 at McNary NWR HQ
Hermit Thrust - 1 at WWRD - singing!
Caspian Terns - 92+ at WWRD
Glaucous-winged Gull - 2 adults, 3 sub-adults at WWRD
Western Gull - 1 adult at WWRD
Swallows - lots of VG, RW, Cliff and Barn over WWRD

Park east of Walla Walla
House Wrens are back and singing
