Hello Reptile lovers.
I wish to thank all the professional people to ID the Snake I saw in the Chehalis Wetland. As we birded today we also stopped this morning looking for the snake again at the Wetlands
It is amazing that all the people who responded give the same ID.Since I completely new on snakes I could tell that each person study this creatures well. And I also seeing this snake so close that snakes are harmless with out you trying to hurt them.It was an awesome experience and I am thankful that I saw one of the more colorful snakes,to make me more aware how beautiful snakes can be.
The Subspecies of the " Common Garter-Snake " call( Thamnophis sirtalis) which is known as the Red-spotted Garter Snake (T.s concinnus)This subspecies occurs in Western Oregon and southwestern Washington.
Since I only have the Audubon Fieldguide to North American Reptiles&Amphibians and the other is Audubon Field Guide to the Pacific Northwest..The later was written by Peter Alden and Dennis Paulson.what have a little of the most common species of animals ,trees. wildflowers insects, birds ,and more.I been keeping this little book in my car.It is a good guide over all..But I Think I need a book this on Reptiles maybe this on our state or the Northwest.I would to find more out about the snakes around and where I possible can expect to find them. The same I learned certain species of Dragonflies I found.
Thank you all to give me already information

Cheers Ruth Sullivan
