Patricia and all,

There have been at least two hatchings of hybrid offspring born at the
Nisqually Refuge the last few summers. I believe it started with a couple
of barnyard geese (not full Graylag) that were dropped off (wandered off?),
these mated with some of the local Canadas. The offspring range from very
obvious farm geese to some that probably look like your bird. In the spring
and summer they can be easy to find by listening to their incessant bleating
when flying with the Canadas! I have wanted refuge staff to intervene for
some time now, since they seem to be pairing off with native species.
