Hello all,
Had our first Western Kingbird of the year today at Lyon's Ferry, Franklin
Co. right by the outhouses. Two Mountain Chickadees still hanging out in the
park. Lots of Yellow-rumps, Orange-crowns, and Ruby-crowned Kinglets. A
Golden Eagle was soaring over the mouth of the Palouse River.
Nothing much in Washtucna - more of the same warblers and kinglets and two
Varied Thrushes.
In Othello - found 6 male Tricolored Blackbirds, 16 Great Egrets and lots of
waterfowl at para ponds. At county line ponds were Stilts, Avocets, Dunlin,
and both Yellowlegs. At Corfu the Sandhill Cranes are still a real show to
watch as they feed, preen, and dance.
Back in Walla Walla Co. there is a Ferruginous Hawk nest on Woodward Canyon
Road east of Touchet.
Thats it for today, ML
