A two-hour walk this morn at Discovery Park in Seattle produced 47 species.
The upper part of the south meadow seemed to be the hot spot, with lots of
sparrows--7 species--including a VESPER SPARROW that sang once and then was
seen briefly on the grassy hillside w/Savannahs opposite the rose-bramble
thickets at the edge of the paved road that enters from the south. Further
east atop the hill there was also a singing LINCOLN'S SPARROW. Lastly, the
highlight of 6 warbler species was a MACGILLIVRAY'S WARBLER heard singing
from some thickets on the north side of the meadow, my first of the season
but I note that two earlier birds have been reported on s. VI, one from
Nanaimo on Monday.

Behavioral highlight: Anna's Hummingbird male zinging past female in
display flight.
