On April 8 I sent a message concerning killdeer nesting in the Coupeville
Elementary School courtyard. Today I was attempting to drive the school's
nearby service road when an adult killdeer went into distraction mode. Ahead
were 3 young running around in the gravel road and roadside weeds. I backed
out with the adult following for several yards. I ended up having to carry a
rather large parcel for some distance. The things we do for birds!!
