The "Winter Flock" of Western Grebe's alongside 520 has stuck around longer than I recall in recent years. What is also interesting is that it appears a secondary flock has been forming alongside I 90 this year as well For those of you who are interested in getting a picture of these shy and open water loving birds this is of grave importance due to the fact that you can walk out onto I 90 and get within 50-100' of these gorgeous birds! Most days bring a slight South wind and these birds hug the bridges for protection from the wind and offer up great views! Good luck! A 300mm or 400mm is still the best option but even a 75mm or 80mm will do.
