Hi folks,

This morning, I drove over to Iron Springs, north of Copalis, for the razor
clam dig. Clams were showing well........

On the beach just south of Boone Creek were about a dozen-and-a-half
glaucous-winged gull adults & immys, with one big white gull in their midst.
They were somewhat 'spooky', as there were people and cars and dogs &c
moving them around a bit... and I had a good look at the G.G.... as big as
or bigger than the g-wings, no sign of grey/dusky in the wing tips, and it
had the black tip to the bill.

After the dig (and breakfast at the Green Lantern in Copalis), I did a
15-minute circle through the pine-spruce-beachgrass at Griffith-Priday State
Park.

The trees were FULL of birds - I must have seen 200 golden-crowned and 100+
Lincoln's sparrows, maybe 30 orange-crowned warblers, and close to 40
yellow-rumps - 2/3 Myrtles! In the brush were crows, a raven flew over,
Stellers' Jay, violet-green swallows, chestnut-back chickadee, Bewick's &
winter wrens, a hairy woodpecker & a flicker, red-breasted nuthatch,
ruby-crowned kinglets, Oregon Juncos, song & fox & Lincoln & golden-crowned
& Puget white-crowned & savannah sparrows, robins, a Swainson's Thrush,
varied thrush, orange-crowned & Myrtle & Audubon's & Wilson's warblers
(thought I heard a MacGillivray's, but I didn't see it), yellowthroats,
Spotted towhees, house finch & goldfinch, cowbirds, starlings; and gulls &
Canada Geese & mallards & a little bunch of Dunlin flying over....

Beat the heck out of doing yard work!
