Yesterday, near Buckley we had Pacific Slope Flycatchers, Common yellow throats were everywhere, Black throated Grays, Orange Crowned Warblers, a large number of white crowned sparrows have hit my feeders at home big time; usually I only get one pair. There were also nice numbers of Ravens, but no Turkey Vultures yet. (Mundy-Loss Road is a good area for them)
With all five species of Woodpeckers coming every day (only males on the Pileated, and Hairy, and all the other guys, (Crossbills yesterday, and Evening Grosbeaks here and there) it has been a real haven. I also have a large number of Rufous Hummingbirds, (for my yeard at least) maybe 8 total. And they don't seem to be going anywhere. I am so thankful I planted all the trees, and native shrubs I did over the past years, they are really paying off. Sharpie and Coopers are making regular stops, and the Bald Eagles are being seen and heard several times a day now. I think we have a new nesting pair around here somewhere!
I am SO glad I work at a bird feed store, because the birds are really wiping me out here! It comes in very handy, go to work, get what I want and go home!
