Hi Jeanie and Vern. It sounds like there might be a local epidemic. It was suggested that salmonella might be the cause, so I'm doing my part by keeping my feeders clean. Thanks for the reply.

Hi Andy,

We are southeast of Graham and we have had large flocks of siskins in our yard and at the feeders. Our cat has been locked up because she was stalking the birds. This afternoon I noticed two sick birds. They were on the ground and looked dumpy. All of the siskins have been very tame, too tame. We have found several dead birds with no evidence of trauma. Is there someone that we should notify?
