For about five minutes this morning we watched a bird on our beach which had markings of an immature Bald Eagle and was picking at a fair- sized crab. This bird had a dark head, feathered and yellow legs. However, his back and upper wings was mostly creamy-white with some brown mottling. We did not see underside when he flew away. We have quite a few immatures but never have we seen one with such a light back and top of wings. Is anyone familiar with this coloring? Ed Level, Olympia, WA
