Daniel and Tweeters, my brother has recently turned me on to the Nexrad
webpage by WI birder John Idzikowski. If you are interested in the
"visible" migration provided by the weather radars across America check out
http://my.execpc.com/CE/5F/idzikoj/nexrad/nexweb/nexrad.htm and scroll down
to "quick links" and select "now from US composite reflectivity map". Texas
has been absolutely bonkers this last week and we've even had good numbers
in the Pac NW (last night was pretty good by our standards). I'm no expert
on analyzing these maps but you should be looking for big colorful circle
clumps for bird flocks and long lines of color for storm fronts. For an
example check out http://www.badbirdz.com/byx042305.htm and see a huge batch
of migrants leaving Cuba, meeting a SEastern front, and taking refuge on the
Keys (last Saturday).
