Hello Tweets,

We have placed 5 photos of the Black Phoebe taken today at Auburn in King Co. onto our website. The photos are not near as good quality that we found out then if would be taken with our digital camera,but are the best photos we have for now of the bird. The bird was very active when most of the photos were taken so it was a challenge at times getting the bird to sit still long enough for a decent photo! It was a rewarding bird to see and our 5th personal record for WA and we expect it shall remain for others to see since a good food source is readily available,but it could also move to another location too! It was an even better bird for Rosanne Becker and Joann Simms(whom we personally know)to see since they had both never seen this species ever before! A life bird for them at an unlikely location!

On a side note we received our brand new copy of the updated "Birds of Washington" Status and Distribution,edited by Steve Mlodinow,Terry Wahl and Bill Tweit today and it is a great reference book indeed to own and have to say the least! A well worth the money to own this book for any Washington birders' collection! It has a great deal of records(especially noteworthy records)for specific species are mentioned,as well as detailed accounts for those species within our state! The boom also composes excellent maps by Kelly Cassidy and habitat status within Washington State and to end with a great bird history and conservation contributed by Joseph Buchanan. There are also many nice drawings illustrate in the book by Scott Mills and Shawneen Finnegan,which make the book complete as a whole! It is truly a must have for any WA birder enthusiast!
