Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday April 28. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at

On April 24 an adult male BALTIMORE ORIOLE was seen at Tierra Del Mar. A
EURASIAN COLLARED-DOVE was seen April 27 near Cape Blanco.

Peak of the spring migration is approaching. Notable birds during the week
were SOLITARY SANDPIPER, BLUE-WINGED TEAL, BROWN PELICAN along the coast,
GRAY and DUSKY FLYCATCHERS in the Willamette Valley. BULLOCK?S ORIOLES are
now on Sauvie Island and the Sandy River Delta.

On April 17 a LOGGERHEAD SHRIKE was south of Bandon. Three BLACK-NECKED
STILTS are now at the Vanport Wetlands in North Portland. Another three were
at the Mollala Sewage Ponds April 23. They are also being seen at Fern Ridge
Reservoir and Ridgefield NWR. On April 23 a BREWER?S SPARROW was at the
Sandy River Delta. A SORA was seen April 22 on a neighborhood yard on Mt.
Scott in Southeast Portland. About noon April 24 a SWAINSON?S HAWK was seen
flying over Parrett Mountain near Newburg. A few hours later one was in
Southwest Portland.

On April 23 a SAGE THRASHER was on Skinners Butte in Eugene. A RED-NAPED
SAPSUCKER was seen April 22 near Medford.
