Greetings All,
A bright alternate plumaged Ruddy Turnstone was present at the tip of Cooper
Point in Thurston County this Am. A striking bird, it's been a while since
I've seen one of these guys looking so sharp and crisp. It was hanging out
with 4 Balck-bellied Plover and a Dunlin. Unfortunately Cooper Point is not
that accessible, it can be reached by Kayak or other suitable craft from
Boston Harbor, a short distance across the water. Shorebirds at this
location usually stick around for less than 1/2 a tide cycle. High tide, or
local residents walking thier dogs usually move the birds off the point
before long. Cheers...
