Hello Tweets,NW Inlanders,and OBOLers

As of 4pm this afternoon/evening the Red-necked Stint was NOT seen today despite extensive scoping/searching made throughout the day from the Three Crabs waterfront near Dungeness(in Washington State). We personally checked the location between 12pm-4pm during incoming tide and encountered relatively good numbers of both Western and Least Sandpipers, which were increased from past visits. During our visit the tide gradually moved in,as did small numbers of Canada Geese(including 2 hybrid types)and at least 20 birder(not including bi-standers)diligently searched along the mouth of the creek and the geese flocks for the Red-necked Stint, but were unable to locate the bird! We also heard of no reports of the bird prior to our visit today, but maybe the bird has finally decided to move on or maybe birders that remained on location will relocate it! Whatever the case we expect more searching will be made in upcoming days for the Red-necked Stint! In addition to checking the Three Crabs waterfront we also checked the lagoon just east of the Thee Crabs restaurant and the Three Crabs"pond" aka Helen's Pond. The weather remained very warm and calm!

Other highlights noted during our visit to the Three Crabs area included the following:

6 Pacific Loons(observed together in Dungeness Bay)
1 Northern Pintail
250+ Common Mergansers
8-10 Turkey Vultures(including 4 birds drifting north over the mouth of the Dungeness River to Dungeness Spit)
7 Bald Eagles
4 Northern Harriers
1 Sharp-shinned Hawk
1 adult Cooper's Hawk
1 Am.Kestrel
228 Black-bellied Plovers
18+ Semipalmated Plovers

25+ Sanderlings
4 Semipalmated Sandpipers(4 birds observed together at Helen's Pond with 1-2 additional birds noted earlier at the nearby Three Crabs waterfront)
