Here is a brief outline of the latest AOU checklist supplement:
The new supplement is out:

The Auk 122(3):1026-1031, 2005.

ABA Area Highlights:

Western Marsh Harrier (Circus aeruginosus) is added to the main checklist
due to a record from Guadeloupe in 2002. This is not actually an ABA Area
change since the account states that the earlier report from Virginia is
still considered to be unsatisfactory.

Crested Myna (Acridotheres cristatellus) moved from the main checklist to
the appendix, due to its extirpation from North America (Vancouver).

Black-backed Wagtail (Motacilla lugens) is deleted from the checklist and
is re-lumped with White Wagtail (M. alba).


There are some distributional changes and other changes for species from
south of the US.

The committee indicates that it is considering proposals for changes in the
Parulidae.
