This week I payed a visit to Nisqually NWR. I saw a bird that I could not recognize from memory. Loooking it up, I saw that the only thing it could possibly be was a Smith's Longspur. I know they shouldn't be here, but I got a very good, unobstructed, close up view of it. It was on the trail to McAllister Creek. Has anyone else seen this bird, or have any idea why it's so far out of its range?
