Hi Tweeters,

This morning I found an adult Stilt Sandpiper at a pond on private property
in the Lower Yakima Valley. I have three photos of it in the new photos
folder on my website. They aren't very good because the bird was a long
ways away. The mud on the edges of the pond was very soft. I sunk up
almost to my knees in one stretch. I contemplated trying to get closer but
the thought of being stuck up to my waist in mud when the temperature was
approaching 100 degrees helped dissuade me.

This is possibly the first adult Stilt Sandpiper to be found in Yakima
County.
