Hello, Tweeters,

Today, 8/13/05, Bob Kiernan from Idaho and I had a chance to check out
Sequim and Dungeness areas. Quite a few shorebirds around - seems
like migration is in full swing.

Our highlights:

3 Crabs, Helen's Pond, 3:45 - 5:15 p.m., where we also ran into Igor
Uhrovic:
7 Stilt Sandpipers (possibly 9): One pale juvenile-type Stilt SP was
standing with 2 SB Dowitchers when we drove up, then a flock of 6 very
bright-buffy juvenile Stilt SPs flew in and fed together for a few
minutes with the other shorebirds before flying off, then 2 more buffy
juvenile Stilt SPs appeared about 30 minutes later and fed together.
We notice that Brad Waggoner recently saw Stilt SP at Foulweather Bluff
- perhaps a small wave of Stilt SPs is passing right now?

Also at 3 Crabs -- 3 Baird's Sandpipers, 3 Pectoral Sandpipers, 2
Semipalmated Sandpipers, along with more common peeps, plovers, and
dowitchers. Seeing the Stilt Sandpipers feeding in company with
dowitchers, Baird's, and Pectorals provided nice comparisons.

Bob Keirnan also reported a Willet at Helen's Pond on Thursday, 8/11,
another good shorebird for our area.

Blyn: ~700 peeps spread out across the mudflat, all Westerns and Leasts
best we could tell, plus BB Plovers.
