I am asking this question for a co-worker. Has anyone had any success establishing a Purple Martin colony on Lake Washington. My friend has put some Gourd houses on the pilings by the lake in front of his house. No luck this year and wanted to know if he is tilting at windmills or was this a viable possibility that will just take a few years to come to fruition. If someone has been successful, is there any advise I can offer my friend to improve his chances? And is there somewhere on the lake he can go to see a thriving colony?
