Tweeters,
I got great views of a Long-Billed Curlew today in the lagoon near the north end of Jetty Island in Everett (DeLorme pg 95, E 6.5). The bird was first scoped at a distance of about 100 yards, it was flushed and flew directly towards me. It landed about 30 feet in front of my scope and stayed there until I left. I first saw the bird at 12:30 (2 hours before high tide) and observed it until 1:00. Washington Birder reports 5 or fewer records in Snohomish County.
There were good numbers of peeps and lots of Semipalmated Plovers.
