Birdingpal Ken McDermott wrote me to say that yesterday he had:

"Pretty good birding today with Sooty Shearwaters off the jetty, Rock
Sandpipers on it along with 1,000 Heermann's Gulls plus 14 Pacific
Golden Plovers in a muddy area behind the sewage treatment plant
(Jason's note: Ocean Shores Game Range) where I also had a female
Peregrine...plus a fly-by Merlin. All in all lots of fun."
