Subject: [Tweeters] Yakima Delta report 8/19/05

The water remains high at the Yakima Delta but there are a few edges where
some great shorebirds are being seen. Today there were at least 3 Solitary
Sandpipers, 12 Lesser and 3 Greater Yellowlegs, 1 Long-billed Dowitcher,
and 1 Stilt Sandpiper (juv). Killdeer seem to have found a better place to
eat for now as I only saw 1.

There were also 2 Great Egrets. Waterfowl are starting to return, but they
are still in their drab, cryptic plumages. Present were Green-winged Teal,
Gadwall, American Wigeon and Northern Shoveler.
