I birded Lyon's Ferry for a while on Sunday afternoon. It was ghastly hot and swarming with people. I saw few birds but managed a Barn Owl and a few Yellow Warblers and Warbling Vireos. I returned again on Monday afternoon after spending the morning at Washtucna which has already been reported by Gina Sheridan. This time there were many of the same species as at Washtucna but fewer of them and fewer species as well. No rarities either day. I camped at Basset Park in Washtucna Monday night & birded it again Tues. morning many of the same species but not nearly as it was on Monday. Camped Tuesday night on Lower Crab Creek. The Common Poorwills, Great Horned Owls, and Coyotes kept me awake. Saw 2 Common Nighthawks perched on tree limbs on Lower Crab Creek Rd. At Wanapum Dam in the picnic area I had 3 Townsend's Warblers, 3 Orange-crowned Warblers, and 1 Yellow Warbler. This was the first place where Yellow was not the most common warbler present.
