Thanks to Ruth and Patrick Sullivan for making their way to Elma today to help me confirm the identity of the small tern I spotted this morning as a Common Tern. They spotted the tern on the same snag on the east end of the pond closest to the restrooms at Vance Creek county park around 2pm. They have placed 3 excellent photos of the Common Tern on their website.
