Hi Tweeters,

I hiked the full loop at Nisqually NWR this afternoon, which coincided
with high tide. Things were pretty quiet overall, but there were some
good looks at small numbers of shorebirds just inside the trail about
midway down the west dike. The most notable sighting was of 3 Lesser
Yellowlegs, which associated with several Greater Yellowlegs, 6 Western
Sandpipers, 3 Least Sandpipers, a Long-billed Dowitcher, a second
unidentified dowitcher, 2 Spotted Sandpipers, several Killdeer, and 3 Wood
Ducks. Also of note was a Great Egret perched in a tree along the north
dike, a pair of Green Herons that flew over McAllister Creek, and 2 Osprey
over the tidal flats.
