Hi Tweets

Thanks to all - yes I do mean September 9-12. I guess it was too late at the end of a long day. In spite of the glitch, hope that we see lots of you folks up at the conference on SEPTEMBER 9-12 in BELLINGHAM.

Hi Tweets

For those who have been on the fence about attending the WOS Conference in Bellingham on June 9-12, we still have many great field trips with space available.

The two boat trips out of Bellingham cruising around Bellingham Bay and out into the San Juans on Saturday and Sunday still have room. We have excellent leaders on both days and these should be great trips.

The Reifel Sanctuary trips on Friday and Saturday have space available, and Reifel is always good this time of year.

Drayton Harbor, including Blaine Marine Park and Semiahmoo Spit can yield an excellent variety of shorebirds during migration and other waterbirds as well. Space is available on all four days. We have excellent local leaders who are familiar with the area.

Tennant Lake and Lake Terrell will give us views of marshland, open water, grasslands, and mixed coniferous-deciduous forests. A great variety of birdlife is expected. Space is available on all four days. Again, we have excellent local leaders.

The Skagit-Samish Flats are often full of surprises during this time of year and our leaders know them well. Come along and find that rarity. Space available on all four days.

Whidbey Island is one of those great spots at all times of the years and is good for shorebirds, loons, grebes, upland passerines and raptors. Space is available on the Saturday and Sunday trips - being led by Steve Ellis who lives on Whidbey and really knows its nooks and crannies.

Denny Granstrand's Sun digiscoping trip still has some space available. If you have wanted to find out some of the secrets to taking great digital pictures this it the trip for you.

The deadline for registering at the regular price is Thursday, September 1st. You can download the registration material from the WOS website (http://www.wos.org) and as long as your postmark is the 1st you get the regular price.

The Pt. Roberts and Mt. Baker trips are filled.

Come up and have a great time with your old friends and make new ones during the field trips and at the evening sessions on Friday and Saturday (there is space at the banquet with a great speaker - Terry Wahl).

I'll see you in September in Bellingham!
