Hello,

I had two nice flocks of American Tree Sparrows along Coulee Hite road
(south of Highway 2) in western Spokane County. The first flock of 20 was at
the corner of Coulee Hite and McFarland Rd (about 50 yards east of this
intersection - can't drive down McFarland) and another flock (12 birds)
about a quarter of a mile south of this spot right along Coulee Hite.

Further along Highway 2, there were 5 Snow Buntings with a larger flock of
Horned Larks right along the Highway just past the airstrip heading west out
of Davenport (Lincoln County). There were a few more Snow Buntings mixed in
with huge Horned Lark flocks along Swanson Lake Road south of Creston. Also
a Golden Eagle in this area, but no Gyrfalcons which I have seen a number of
times along Swanson Lake road.

Also of interest was a lingering Western Grebe on Medical Lake.

Blessings,

Terry Little
