Subject: [Tweeters] Black-crowned Night-Heron Roost

Hi Tweets,

I stopped by Moses Lake yesterday while performing chores for the upcoming
holidays.
Several nice birds were observed, but the best observation was of a
Black-crowned Night-Heron roost that is hosting over 90 birds. The roost
tree is devoid of leaves offering fabulous views of the birds and is quite a
striking sight.
The roost is directly across the lake from Neppel Landing Park and is in a
residential neighborhood. This doesn't seem to bother the birds in the least
unless someone walks under the trees. To get a closer look at these birds
they can be seen at close range from Northshore Drive. Any local phone book
has a map.
Other birds seen were the continuing EURASIAN WIGEON, a difficult bird on
the eastside, at least 50 Bonaparte's Gulls, a single Trumpeter Swan (among
a large group of Tundra Swans), and all the likely duck species.

Cheers
