The SNOWY OWL was about 1/4 mile from parking lot on Damon Point today
around 1 pm. Very calm. Opened his eyes wide but didn't flush when dog and
it's pet walked within 75 ft or so.I took pictures for an hour until it
finally flushed when someone approached too quickly from the beach side. It
only flew about 300 yards or so to driftwood by the bayside and it looked
like he would remain.
I'm not real sure this is the same bird Rod Gilbert saw and got such
beautiful pictures of yesterday or not. It seems this one has a bit more
spotting especially on the forehead. I will try to get a picture or two
posted yet this evening or if not early tomorrow.
