Hello Tweets,

We have updated our website with new photos taken yesterday in Mason Co. including the Rock Sandpiper and an adult Herring Gull, which were both taken near or at Potlatch State Park. The Herring Gull was the most dominant of several gulls at the salmon collection site consisting mainly of "Olympic"Gulls and up to 2 Western Gulls and it would often try and carry away a few of the dead salmon,as we watched the Rock Sandpiper. A single Bonaparte's Gull was also noted offshore in Annas Bay amongst good number of Mew Gulls, which was not mentioned in our previous posting. As mentioned in our previous Tweeters posting these were our best photos of a Rock Sandpiper to date and it was enjoyable seeing the bird over the past few days! We especially enjoyed how tolerable the bird was as it foraged amongst the flock of Dunlin,as well as bathed and preened in the water at the salmon collection site. Perhaps other birders will get to see this bird and explore coastal Mason Co.
