Subject: [Tweeters] Anna's tongue?

I have an Anna's Hummingbird that's been hanging around my feeder for over a
month now. Recently I observed something protruding from the end of its
bill. I assume that it is the bird's "tongue" (is there a proper
ornithological term for it?). It seems to always be out. Is this normal? Is
there something physically wrong with this bird? Here is a link to a photo
of it:

servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public."
