Greetings Tweeters,

Thanks to the generousity of Andy Fritz at Clover Park Technical College, 11 Tahoma Audubon birders got a cold, but up-close look at my favorite birding spot this morning. We spent three hours exploring the woodlands and wetlands of the Hundred Acre Woods (Flett Creek in NE Lakewood, Pierce Co.)

We tallied 41 species, a good mix of species including 3 raptors and 7 ducks. Here's the list:

Pied-billed Grebe, Great Blue Heron, Canada and Cackling Goose.

Mallard, Gadwall, Nor. Pintail, Nor. Shoveler, Green-winged Teal, Bufflehead, Ring-necked Duck.

Cooper's Hawk, Red-tailed Hawk, Kestrel.

Killdeer, GW Gull, Mourning Dove, Flicker, Downy Woodpecker.

Steller's and Scrub Jay, Am. Crow, Black-capped Chickadee, Red-breasted Nuthatch, Creeper, Marsh and Bewick's Wren, Golden-crowned and Ruby-crowned Kinglet.

Robin, Starling, Yellow-rumped Warbler, Towhee, Fox Sparrow, Song Sparrow, White-crowned and Golden-crowned Sparrow, Junco.

Red-winged Blackbird, House Finch and Purple Finch.

That's it.
