Hello Tweets,

We have just updated our Snowy Owl gallery with 24 new photos taken yesterday at Damon Point. These photos consist of 10 birds including 1 rather dark individual that showed the most amount of heavy, dark barring. All the other birds were somewhat similar in plumage with only a very slight plumage or size difference. All the Snowy Owls we observed yesterday and previously have been found in the dunes and on the immediate beach shoreline near Catala Spit, which is a lengthy hike from the parking lot at Damon Point. Of course the birds could always move from day to day,but the best habitat and least amount of disturbance to them seems to be in those areas. The 2 birds we observed yesterday at he Oyhut WA were observed by walking behind the Ocean Shores STP,then north of the large fluorescent navigation tower. Our new photos are labeled as observed yesterday, although the last 2 birds at the Oyhut Wildlife Area were not photographed due to very limited lighting and the distance. It seems that Damon Point has the most Snowy Owls this season so far,but it is still early in the season!
