A Friday late-afternoon trip to Montlake Fill turned up no bittern or Horned Lark, but a healthy assortment of ducks: 13 species. Among the 5 Aythyas were 64 (best count possible, as most were distant, and constantly diving) Canvasbacks, and a flock of 11 Redheads. The Redheads were very close in, for a change, right off the point. I've been scouring the Green-winged Teal in the area over the last month or so, convinced that this is the year for a Garganey.
