On September 21, 2001, a very early Sunday morning, there were 2 SANDHILL
CRANES at Juanita Bay Park. They were grazing on the lawn, flew up and
around a couple of times calling loudly, settled back onto the lawn, and
then were scared off for good by a passing jogger. Prior to the appearance
of the runner, I was alone in the park, and quite thrilled to get such close
looks at these birds. A very nice addition the JBP species list.
