Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Wednesday December 13. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls

On December 9 a BLACK-THOATED GREEN WARBLER was found at the edge of Upper
Klamath Lake in Klamath Falls. It continues to be seen. From Hwy 97 take the
Nevada Street exit. Cross the Link River then park in a small lot on the
right. The bird works the trees at the edge of the lake.
On December 11 a BEWICK?S SWAN was seen in the White Lake Unit of Lower
Klamath Lake.

Up to four SNOWY OWLS are at the South Jetty of the Columbia River and two
are at the South Jetty of Yaquina Bay. On December 12 one was along
Stateline Road in northern Umatilla County. Another was seen December 13 at
Seal Rock State Park south of Newport. One was photographed December 2 along
Dixon Mountain Road near Gaston, but it did not remain.

FERRUGINOUS HAWKS are remaining late this year. Individuals are reported
from several different areas of eastern Oregon with 14 in the Fort Rock area
December 12 and 11 east of Klamath Falls on December 12.

On December 9 an EMPEROR GOOSE was at Coos Bay. A MOCKINGBIRD was on the
North Spit of Coos Bay the next day. On December 11 a YELLOW WARBLER was in
McMinnville. A LESSER YELLOWLEGS was seen December 11 south of Salem, near
Turner. A SWAMP SPARROW was at Ankeny NWR December 8. Up to 45 TRUMPETER
SWANS are now in the Airlie area south of Monmouth. On December 12 two TREE
SWALLOWS were at the EE Wilson SWA north of Corvallis. That day seven
SANDHILL CRANES were foraging in a corn field north of Lebanon. Up to ten
TURKEY VULTURES are now being seen in the Fern Ridge Reservoir area.

on December 10 three LAPLAND LONGSPURS were in a flock of HORNED LARKS in
northwest Gilliam County. On December 11, 30 WOOD DUCKS were at Sawyer Park
in Bend. On December 9 five SNOW BUNTINGS were in a flock of HORNED LARKS at
Lower Klamath NWR. Six TREE SWALLOWS were there December 11.
